Pick Your Perfect Mat: Neoprene - 33"
We went all the way to drop dead gorgeous with this vibrant tobacco leaf pattern. Hidden among the glorious hues and gilt accents, you'll find a touch of whimsy: busy bees, lucky ladybugs, and, of course, beautiful butterflies. A beveled glass center invites you in, while bright blues, bold greens, and golden tones make you want to play all day! Tobacco leaf patterns are a favorite among porcelain collectors, and you can see why with this beautiful mat. Florals and leaves are surrounded by pink bamboo, green and gold, and custom blue leopard print, creating a tablescape everyone can enjoy! This mat goes with literally every tile, from pastels to bold colors. It matches so many brands and tile colors, but pairs best with white faces. It comes in 33-inch neoprene or faux leatherette, so the hardest decision will be which one to choose!

Each Memorial Mahj mat comes shipped in our signature mahjong bag, clear so you can see your mat, with a handle so you can hang, display, or carry it with ease, with boatloads of style, because you deserve it! Mats are made to order - please allow two weeks for production.

For each Gilded Garden mat sold, a portion of proceeds goes to The Denise Lee Dvorak Endowed Scholarship in Education at The University of Texas at Austin. Created by Denise's family and friends, in conjunction with the University of Texas, to honor and celebrate Denise’s life and her love for education. Denise will be remembered for the enduring lessons she taught to everyone she met: lessons about living fully in the face of hardship, fighting with grace, and loving without reservation.

This mat is copyrighted and is solely the property of Memorial Mahj - sorry about the watermarks. It's unfortunate we have to hide our designs behind them because of the thievery running rampant in the industry. Memorial Mahj mats are only sold here on our website or at authorized mahjong retail stores in the USA. Please support small business and buy direct.

Care instructions

If you have a spill, simply wipe it down with a slightly damp cloth and lay it flat to dry. Do not use any cleaning product other than mild soap and water, as it may discolor the neoprene fabric or damage the leatherette surface.

Production

Neoprene Material: 3 mm polyester and eco-friendly natural rubber with a stitched border for that slick play feel you know and love.

Leatherette: an elevated 0.97 mm thick mat with a refined, easy-slide matte finish and luxurious leather-look surface that plays as good as it looks.

Each mat is custom printed to order, so there may be slight color variations during production. Colors may also appear slightly different in person due to computer and phone screen settings and photography lighting conditions.

Each mat comes rolled and packaged in our custom-sourced clear plastic zip storage bag, so you can see your beautiful mat, store it in a basket, or hang it from a hook.

Please note that the mat’s border may not lie completely flat at first, but it will relax and flatten with regular use.

  • MEMORIAL MAHJ
  • THE WAY WE PLAY
  • CUSTOM BY DESIGN, PERSONAL BY NATURE

Memorial Mahj was born from a love of mahjong and a passionate belief that every table deserves to be beautiful. Each piece has been thoughtfully created and custom-curated with design, function and fun top of mind to bring you joy (and I hope a little luck) with every game you play.

Woman-owned and community-driven, we partner with female entrepreneurs and support memorial charities, because beautiful things should do beautiful things.

Our products have been selected so you will always find something that seems like it was made just for you and the way you play. And if you don't...well then, we will just have to make it for you!

Highlights

  • Custom designed and curated accessories you won't find anywhere else
  • Crafted with meticulous (some might say obsessive) attention to detail
  • Made for the player who brings both heart and style to the table
  • Artist-designed to bring joy to every mahjong moment

Why just play mahjong, when you can make memories?

Whether you play by the rules or you make up your own, Memorial Mahj brings joy to your mahjong table with accessories that enhance your game play while making mahjong more beautiful, one table at a time.

How It Started

It all started with the semi-famous card decals, made at first for friends, then sold as gifts, and finally, Memorial Mahj morphed into an actual business with mahjong loving customers across the country. Memorial Mahj ships joy to people all over the US, one card cover at a time. Customers and friends kept asking where they could get my tile totes and my dice holders, which are some of my favorite things, so I added them to the product portfolio. Last, and definitely not least, I finally gave in and made the mats and shufflers friends and customers have been asking for since the beginning. Bringing a love for all things mahj to my mats, they are very specifically designed to go with a lot of different tiles and I hope you love them as much as I do!

How It's Going

This company stands for quality, the power of mahjong to unite and a deep love of community. We believe in supporting other women entrepreneurs and giving back to memorial charities. Every purchase supports our mission to make mahjong more beautiful, in every way, one table at a time.

Every order is custom made, each design, artist created. If you need something special, and you don't find it here, contact me at memorialmahj@gmail.com, and I'll do my best to make your mahjong dreams come true!

Exclusive Collaborations

Check out my exclusive collabs with Motown Mahjong (motownmahjong.com) and Simply Mahj (simplymahj.com). I created special designs just for them that you can't get anywhere else.

Charity Partners

To become one of our partner charities, please contact memorialmahj@gmail.com. We partner with organizations and charities in memory of a loved one. Our first mat collection is benefitting the Denise Lee Dvorak Endowed Scholarship in Education, created in memory of my longhorn-loving sister, Denise. The endowment provides scholarships to future educators attending the University of Texas Austin College of Education, Denise's alma mater. Not only was Denise a beautiful, live-life-to-the-fullest, game-loving gal, she was a wonderful mom, wife, sister, friend and beloved teacher at Casis Elementary in Austin, TX. She truly had a passion for education and this endowment is the perfect way to memorialize her.
